Link Popularity is the number of hyperlinks from other sites pointed back to your website. It's many times used as term for Google's PageRank, Google's own method of search engine link popularity.

The more sites that are linking to your website, the higher ranking your site will get, the easier you are to find and the more inbound traffic your site will get.

Inbounds links are the one of most important factor for getting a high keyword ranking from most search engine, search engines are also ranking their search result on the link popularity from your site.

1. Get listed in the internet directories such as DMOZ (Open Directory Project) and Yahoo. There are other internet directories, try to add your link in many directories if you can, they can get you more inbound traffic.
2. Ask other website owner/editor/webmaster to link to you. Email them, but don't spam.
3. Exchange links with other website owner/editor/webmaster. Exchanging links are also useful to boost your link popularity.
4. Stay away from link farms, don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking. Your site will get banned from search engine site.
